Beautify Your Obedience to Allaah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
Advice of Wahb Ibn Munabbih
Wahb ibn Munabbih said:
You should beautify you obedience to Allah with knowledge, forbearance and understanding.
Honour yourself by rejecting the characteristics of the fools
instead subject yourself to the characteristics of the scholars.
Accustom yourself to the actions of the gentle, patient ones
and forbid yourself from the actions of the wretched,
make it compulsory upon yourself that you follow the behavior of the scholars
and separate yourself from the ways of the wicked people.
Wahb ibn Munabbih ibn Kaamil al Yamaanee as-San'aanee was one of the trustworthy Taabi'oon, his biography is found in Tahdheeb at-Tahfheeb (11/166)
and Hilyah a-Awliyaa (4/23)
