Allah lets the people of lies

Shaykh Muhammad ibn al-Uthaymeen:

"Allah lets the people of lies entice from the truth with various plans, doubts and false propaganda just to make the haqq (truth) clear and more visible and to prevail over falsehood."

(Fath Rabb-il-Bariyyah, p.98)

If a father does an evil action in front of his children

Shaikh bin 'Uthaymeen was asked, "If a father does an evil action in front of his children such as smoking, will it be considered an open sin (mujahiran) or a hidden sin because he is inside the house?"
He replied, "This is even WORSE than an open sin because it involves an open sin as well as bad upbringing and the Prophet (SAW) said, 'All the sins of my followers will be forgiven except the muhahireen (those who sin openly or disclose it to others)'

The Most Blessed Marriage is the Least Expensive One

The Most Blessed Marriage is the Least Expensive One

Extravagance in dowry payments and wedding celebrations are all in conflict with the Islamic Law, because the most blessed marriage is the least expensive one; and the more the expenses are decreased, the more the blessing are increased.

In most cases, this is a matter which falls upon the women, because it is the women who impose excessive dowries on their husbands. Likewise, extravagance in wedding celebrations is one of those things which Islamic Law has prohibited, and it is included in the Words of Allah subhanahu wa ta'aala, Most High in Chapter 7 verse 31 which means; but waste not by extravagance, certainly He (Allah subhanahu wa ta'aala) likes not al-Musrifun (those who waste by extravagance).

We must be in accordance with Islamic Law and a person should not exceed its limits nor be extravagance because Allah subhanahu wa ta'aala, Most High has prohibited extravagance.
As for what is said regarding the honeymoon, it is more evil and more hated because it is imitation of non-Muslims, and a great amount of wealth wasted by it.

It is also causes loss in many religious matters especially if they spend it in non-Islamic countries because they return with habits and customs which are harmful to them and to their society. These matters are causes of anxiety for the Muslim community. It is not the matter if they traveled to perform umrah or to Madinah.

"We've really 'sold ourselves short'

"We've really 'sold ourselves short' in our knowledge because what we have learnt is not being actualised in our behaviour. In fact the most that we can say is that we know the legal ruling of something but as for putting it into practice then only little do we do that.
We ask Allah to pardon us!

The main fruit and benefit of knowledge is that it is put into practice so that its effects can be seen in the faces of people, in their behaviour, their character, their worship of Allah, their seriousness, their fear (of Allah) etc; this is the most important thing to remember.

I personally believe that if an intelligent Christian was to study Islamic jurisprudence as we do here, he would understand it just as well as we do, if not better. For example, look at that Arabic language dictionary 'Munjid' – they say that the author was a Christian and that he researched it very well!

So speculative issues (achieved by deep study) are not the objective in (seeking) knowledge – O Allah, grant us a beneficial knowledge! – no, the main fruit of knowledge is for it to be of true benefit.

Isn't it amazing how many of the basic standard people who are ignorant of the Deen, exhibit a true humility in front of Allah 'azza wa jall, actualising a real closeness to Allah, excellent conduct, behaviour and worship, far far greater than that of a student of knowledge...?"

Shaykh 'Uthaymeen (رحمه الله تعالى) said:

Shaykh 'Uthaymeen (رحمه الله تعالى) said:

"There is no comparison between one who has knowledge and one who does not, just as there is no comparison between the living and the dead, and one who hears and one who is deaf, and one who can see and one who is blind. Knowledge is light with which one is guided, and with it removes one from the darkness (of ignorance) to the light (of knowledge, i.e. Islaam). With knowledge, Allaah raises the ranks of whom He wishes from His creation."

"Kitaabul-'Ilm".

Ibn Uthaymeen on knowledge

With reference to the important virtues of knowledge, the Shaykh (rahima-hullaah) mentions:

((That he who has knowledge does not become tired in protecting it.
This is because, if Allaah bestows knowledge upon you, then its place is in the heart and there is no need for containers or keys or the like.
It is protected in the heart and soul, and in time itself it is a protector for you, because it protects you from danger, with Allaah’s permission.
So knowledge protects you, whilst with property, you protect it by placing it in locked up containers, and despite all this, you still remain insecure about it.))
