Knowledge knocks on the door of action

Luqmaan adviced his son:
“O my son! The dunya is a deep ocean in which many have drowned! Let your ship be taqwallah (fear of Allah), and load your ship with imaan-bellah (believe in Allah), and let her sail be tawakkal on Allaah! Hopefully you will survive then”.
[“Kitaab Dham Ad-Dunya”, 1/91].

Malik Ibn Dinar said:
“Love of this world is the head of every mistake (i.e. the main reason behind mistakes), women are the traps of the shaytan, and wine is a caller to every sin!”
[“Kitaab Dham Ad-Dunya”, 3/416].

Wahb Bin Munbih said:
“The example of the dunya (worldly life) and hereafter is like the example of a man who has two wives. If he pleases one of them, the other one will be displeased”.
[“Kitaab Dham Ad-Dunya”, 1/119].

Sahl bin Abdullah At-Tustari said:
“There is no helper but Allah, no guide but the Messenger of Allah, no provision but taqwa and no work but to have fortitude in these things"
["Siyar A'lam An-Nubala", 13/331].

Imam Ash-Shaatibi writes:
“Sufyan At-Thawri has said: “Knowledge knocks on the door of action: it enters if the door is opened, but leaves if it does not receive a reply”.
["Al-Muwafaqaat", 1/75].

Abu Darda said: “Woe to him who does not know, and seven times woe to him who knew but did not act!” ["Ihya Uloem Ad-Deen", 1/63].
